Dr. Omar Tillo is widely respected as one of the top body contouring plastic surgeons in the United Kingdom. His practice in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery is dedicated to the pursuit of aesthetic body contouring.
He earned his MD in Medicine from Damascus University in 1997 and completed his first specialization as a General Surgeon in 2002, during which he performed numerous major elective and emergency procedures. He later continued his training in the United Kingdom in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His specializations include microsurgery, breast, body and limb aesthetics, and reconstruction. He has completed advanced fellowships in hand surgery and breast reconstruction. Additionally, he attained the MRCS, an MD by research thesis, and then the FRCS in Plastic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).
During his last job at the NHS, he developed the breast reconstruction service at Bedford Hospital by introducing microsurgical free flap reconstruction (DIEP) and complex breast surgery. His team was nominated twice for the Hospital’s ‘Team of The Year Award’ and won the ‘Service Improvement and Innovation Award’ in November 2018.
His practice has been fully private since 2019, centred on body contouring procedures such as liposuction, superficial gluteal lipofilling (SGL), abdominoplasty, breasts, calves, and male pectoral surgery using standard and custom-made implants.
He introduced the ultrasound-scan-guided gluteal lipofilling in 2020 and worked with The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) to study the evidence on BBL safety and produced new national guidelines on superficial gluteal lipofilling announced in October 2022.
Dr Tillo is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (UKAAPS) and the International Society of Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
